Sirens rang out
somebody gives a shout
I run threw the street
pavement jarring my feet
lights flash
on a side street
I'm running so hard
that I can't breath
footsteps echo behind me
I trip and fall
time seems to stall
my body hits the ground
rocks slide and gouge
I try to stand and run
but that was all they needed
just a tiny head lead
you shove me to the ground
the cuffs come out
and I'm bound
they lift me from the ground
and throw me in the back
soon I'm in a cell
why I can't tell
all alone in a room
with nothing else to do
I stair at the selling
and brude
I don't know why I'm here
this is the fourth time this year
hell this month
they keep pushing their luck
I'll make them see their wrong
keys jingle
as my jailer comes
"Here's the one."
a new cop I've never seen before
is standing at my cell door
"What's she in for?"
"Running from Officer Moore."
"Bullshit he doesn't work this shift!"
I cried out
Blue eyes turned on me
they were the only thing I could see
curly brown hair
dripped here and there
"Shut up in there!" yelled my jailer
the new guy took the keys
and asked if I'd follow him please
we walked down the hall
past the office sprawl
we walked into a room
"here's a seat for my and one for you"
he removed the cuffs
as an at of trust
after a long talk
he let me walk
a few days go by and he checks in
just to see where/how I've been
before long we had a pattern
he would call me, and I wouldn't do the latter
what we had developed into a crush
It wasn't love we didn't believe in that mush
soon enough I let him into my home
to treat as his own
one dark night sirens rang out
somebody gave a shout
gun shots follow suddenly I feel hollow
Officer Moore
showed up at my door
soon enough I was clutching his hand
telling him to be tough
I realized I loved him enough
when he opened his eyes
I cried
Not caring about my pride
I told him how he almost died
told him of my love
and how he's a stupid lug
we got married in the fall
I wait up each night
afraid to get 'the call'
out daughter is one
we're expecting a son
My Blue eyed cop and me
don't forget our little family
live together each day
as the sirens fade away.
